TIGEM hosts an international Summer School on the Metabolic Control of Cell Growth

TIGEM will host an international summer school on “Metabolic control of cell growth” on May 5–6, 2026, a key area in contemporary biomedical research.

Organized within the MENTOR program, the initiative will bring together leading experts from academic institutions and international research centers to explore the role of metabolism in cell growth processes and in the development of complex diseases, including cancer and neurological disorders.

The scientific program will be structured over two thematic days: the first dedicated to metabolism and major cell signaling pathways, and the second focused on functional genomics and proteomics.
Speakers will include Andrea Ballabio (TIGEM), Claudio de Virgilio (University of Fribourg), Brendan Manning (Harvard Medical School), Gennaro Napolitano (TIGEM), Thales Papagiannakopoulos (NYU Grossman School of Medicine), Sara Baldassari (Paris Brain Institute), Joern Dengjel (University of Fribourg), Roberto Zoncu (University of California, Berkeley), and Alissa Nelson (Cell Signaling Technology).

The summer school will take place on-site at TIGEM in Pozzuoli and will be accessible upon prior online registration. The event represents an important opportunity for training and exchange for early-career researchers interested in the latest advances in molecular medicine and cell biology.
