When: The position is available starting immediately. The duration of the contract is 1 year, subjected to yearly revision.

What: The Post-doctoral researcher will be involved in an exciting project that aims to dissect mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of mitochondrial diseases and develop mutation-independent strategies to treat rare and common mitochondrial-associated disorders.

Salary: The salary will be discussed privately with the applicants, based on their previous experience (gross annual amount range 24.000€-33.000€). Candidates coming to Italy for the first time, or returning after residing abroad, may take advantage of very attractive income tax benefits.

Essentials: Candidates should have a PhD in Biology or a related discipline. Excellent skills in cellular and molecular biology are required. A background in the field of mitochondrial biology or microRNAs biology is highly desirable. Mouse genetic expertise will be a plus. The ideal candidate should be strongly motivated and able to work in a research team. Excellent technical skills and the ability to think independently and as part of a research team are highly desired. Records that show applicants ability to be funded will be positively considered.
