Pre and postdoctoral positions available in Trapani’s Lab

When: The position is available starting ASAP.
What: The fellows will be involved in an exciting project focused on development of innovative gene therapy and genome editing approaches based on the use of adeno-associated viral vectors (AAV) for treatment of common inherited retinal diseases. The project will take advantage of cutting-edge models, such as retinal organoids derived from induced pluripotent stem cells.

Salary: The salary will be discussed privately with the applicants, based on their previous experience (gross annual amount range postdoctoral position: 25.000€-33.000€). Candidates coming to Italy for the first time, or returning after residing abroad, may take advantage of very attractive income tax benefits.
Qualifications:
Pre-doctoral candidates should have a Master’s degree in Biology or a related discipline and previous experience in a molecular biology research laboratory.
Post-doctoral candidates should have a PhD in Biology or a related discipline and, preferentially, a background in the field of gene therapy and genome editing. Excellent skills with molecular biology are required. Previous experience in the retinal field is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
Ideal candidates should be highly motivated and able to work in a highly collaborative environment both independently and as part of the team.
