Research fellow and Postdoctoral Positions in inherited neurodegenerative disorders in Sorrentino's Lab

Where: The workplace is the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine, located in Pozzuoli, Naples, Italy.

When: The position is available starting as soon as possible. The duration of the contract is 2 years, renewable upon a positive evaluation.

What: The postdoc involved in an exciting project focused on the development of new drug therapy protocols for the treatment of CNS and retinal pathology in a mouse model of a very severe Lysosomal Storage Disorder.

Salary: The salary will be discussed privately with the applicant, based on previous experience.

Essentials:

Candidates for the Research Fellow position should possess a master’s degree in biology or a related discipline, preferably with a background and proficiency in basic molecular, biochemical, and histological techniques.

Postdoctoral candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline, preferably with a background in autophagy and CNS biology. A strong track record in Molecular Biology and Biochemical fields, along with experience in handling and working with mouse models, is essential. Excellent technical skills and the ability to think independently, as well as collaborate effectively within a research team, are highly desirable.
