Predoctoral/Postdoctoral Fellowship in Synthetic Biology of Mammalian Cells for gene therapy.
Where: The Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine T(TIGEM) is a leading European research center dedicated to understanding the molecular mechanisms of rare genetic diseases and developing innovative therapies.ocated in Pozzuoli, Italy, TIGEM comprises several research groups and over 200 staff members, offering a collaborative and state-of-the-art research environment.
When: The position is available starting ASAP.
What: The di Bernardo Lab is seeking a highly motivated predoctoral or postdoctoral researcher to join our team. Our research integrates molecular biology, computer science, and biomedical engineering on designing biomolecular circuits using synthetic biology approaches to biotechnological and biomedical discoveries. This position is for a research project aimed at developing innovative tools for gene therapy by means of synthetic biology. The candidate will be involved in the design and construction of synthetic gene circuits in mammalian cells by integrating advanced cloning techniques with automated protocols using the OpenTrons Flex, and next-generation sequencing for data analysis.
Salary: The salary will be discussed privately with the applicants, based on their previous experience.
Essentials:
- For predoctoral candidates: A Master's degree in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field and at least one year of experience at the bench preferentially working on mammalian cells.
- For postdoctoral candidates: A Ph.D. in the above-mentioned fields. Proficiency in molecular cloning and genetic manipulation techniques in mammalian cell culture. Familiarity with gene therapy is advantageous.
How to apply:
Interested candidates should submit the following:
- detailed CV, including graduation marks
- cover letter outlining research experience and motivation for applying
