Group Leader Position
TIGEM, an internationally renowned research center dedicated to understanding genetic diseases and developing transformative therapies, is seeking applications for Group Leader positions. We are looking for dynamic scientists with expertise in one of the following fields:
- Non-viral gene delivery: designing, synthesizing, and optimizing cutting-edge delivery platforms
- Innate immune response: dissecting complex immunological responses in the context of in vivo gene therapy
- AI driven protein design: AI-based modeling to develop therapeutic proteins for rare genetic diseases, applying advanced algorithms like diffusion models and large language models.
- Synthetic biology: applied to gene therapy and drug discovery.
PROFILE
- Innovative researchers with a deep passion for developing groundbreaking projects that have significant translational potential, aiming to bridge the gap between basic research and clinical applications.
- Excellent mid-career scientists with extensive experience in leading independent research groups and successfully managing scientific teams.
- Have not resided in Italy for the last 3 years. Priority will be given to scientists currently working in the USA.
- Proven leadership skills, with a strong desire to build, guide, and inspire a successful and collaborative research team.
- A strong track record of publishing high-impact research articles in leading scientific journals.
- Demonstrated ability to secure external funding from prestigious national and international agencies. Experience in managing research budgets.
- Good collaborative capacities across disciplinary boundaries.

SELECTION PROCESS

Top ranking applicants will be contacted and invited for on-site interview. This will include presenting their work and discussing future research plans with TIGEM’s Executive Board and other TIGEM Group Leaders. Successful candidates will also discuss their long-term plan with TIGEM’s scientific advisory board.
