The Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) is a Telethon Foundation organization
The Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) in Naples (Italy) was created in 1994 by the Italian Telethon Foundation
to foster research on genetic diseases.
The mission of Tigem is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying genetic diseases and to develop therapeutic strategies.
The Institute is owned and managed by the Italian Telethon Foundation.
Our Vision
The Tigem has the sole purpose of executing top quality research to understand the mechanisms behind rare genetic diseases, and furthermore, to apply new knowledge to the development of novel treatments.
