Staff Scientist, Microscopy Facility

Introduction: The Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Scientist to join our state-of-the-art Microscopy Facility. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting and advancing research activities through expert use of optical and advanced microscopy techniques.

 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize and advance various types of microscopes, including optical, confocal, super- resolution (SR)
  • Develop, optimize, and implement new protocols for microscopy experiments to enhance research outcomes.
  • Partner with researchers to design innovative experiments and interpret complex
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in microscopy technology and integrate new techniques into ongoing research projects.
  • Contribute to the development of new microscopy methodologies and applications to support cutting-edge research.

 

Qualifications:
  • PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related

  • Proven experience in operating and using advanced microscopy systems, particularly optical microscopes, confocal, super-resolution.
  • Strong background in image analysis and software relevant to microscopy (e.g., ImageJ, MATLAB).
  • Knowledge on integration of image analysis and artificial intelligence
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal
