Junior researcher (from pre-doctoral to post-doctoral) position

Where: The workplace is the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine, located in Pozzuoli, Naples, Italy. More info at www.tigem.it  

When:  One year contract starting on March 2025  , with possible extension of the contract.  

What: We are seeking a highly motivated junior researcher (from pre-doctoral to post-doctoral level) to join our Genomic Medicine Program. The ideal candidate will 

be passionate about the application of computational methods in the structural biology field.  

The candidate will be involved in applying AI-based algorithms and biophysical simulations to guide the design of enhanced enzymes used as a therapy for lysosomal storage disorders. 

Essentials:   

• Master’s degree in physics, chemistry, biology or a related field.  

• Candidates must be highly motivated and ready to work in a highly collaborative environment. 

• Experience in protein structure modelling and/or biomolecular simulations.  

• Familiar with Python programming language.  

• Quick learner of new computational techniques and methodologies.  

Desirable:   

• Previous experience with AI-based protein modelling algorithms (e.g., AlphaFold2, RoseTTAFold, etc.) 

• Experience with advanced molecular dynamics techniques (e.g., enhanced sampling, free energy perturbation, etc.) 

• Good skills in English communication
