Principal Investigator, Genomic Medicine Program (Junior to Senior Level)

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Principal Investigator to join our Genomic Medicine Program. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and innovative scientist who is ready to lead and expand research initiatives aimed at curing rare genetic diseases through AI-based protein modeling. This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of genetic research and therapeutic development, contributing to groundbreaking advances in the field. The candidate will also set-up an internal facility to help other PIs with their modelling needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead research projects focusing on AI-based protein modeling to understand and treat rare genetic diseases.
2. Develop and apply state-of-the-art algorithms such as diffusion or LLM -based protein models to engineer therapeutic protein by modifying existing ones or by designing them the novo.
3. Collaborate with a diverse, cross-functional team to integrate genetic data and computational models into practical therapeutic applications.
4. Publish and disseminate research findings in high-impact journals and at international conferences.
5. Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the academic and supportive environment at TIGEM.
Required Qualifications:
1. Hands-on experience with AI-driven protein modeling tools, including RosettaFold, RFdiffusion, AlphaFold, ESM, ESMFold.
2. Extensive experience with protein modeling and design software such as PyMOL, Rosetta, Schrodinger, Molecular Operating Environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
3. A strong publication record in protein design and engineering, particularly related to therapeutic proteins , commensurate with the candidate's level of experience.
4. Prior experience with genetic disorders research, especially rare genetic diseases, is highly desired.
5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
