When: The position is available starting ASAP.
What: The Post-doc will be involved in a very exciting 3-year project on transcriptional regulation of Golgi biogenesis. The project is aimed at the identification of transcriptional mechanisms that drive de novo Golgi assembly after removal of this organelle from the cell. The project is supported by Human Frontiers program and offers an excellent opportunity to acquire unique skills in such innovative techniques as organelle nano-surgery, correlative light-electron microscopy and single cell transcriptomics.
Salary: The salary will be discussed privately with the applicant, based on previous experience.
Essentials: Post-Doctoral candidates should have a PhD in Biology or a related discipline and preferentially a background in the field of cells biology (membrane organelles in particular). Solid skills in cell biology and molecular biology techniques are required. Previous experience with microscopy is highly desirable. The candidate should be ready to spend long periods of time in US-based lab (Albany, NY) during the first year of the project to learn nano-surgery approach.
