26/05/2021 Pre and Postdoctoral Positions available in the Di Malta's Lab

May 26, 2021
Where: The workplace is the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine, located in Pozzuoli, Naples, Italy. More info at www.tigem.it

When: The position is available starting ASAP.

What: The Pre and Post-Doctoral scholars will be involved in a very exciting project about the role of lysosomal dysfunction in Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD), the most common monogenic life-threatening human systemic disease. We will exploit state of the art imaging techniques, gene editing and “-omics” approaches (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) in cellular and murine models of ADPKD to understand whether deregulation of lysosomal signaling and metabolism contributes to the disease pathogenesis. More information about the lab, the topics studied and latest publications are available at https://www.tigem.it/Staff/dimalta

Salary: The salary will be discussed privately with the applicant, based on their previous experience.

Essentials: Post-doctoral candidates should have a PhD in Biology or a related discipline and preferentially a background in the field of cellular signaling and metabolism and/or kidney physiology. Excellent skills in cell biology and molecular biology techniques are required. Previous experience in mouse genetic techniques is highly desirable, but not mandatory. In addition, the ideal candidate should be a highly motivated person, able to work and think independently and as a part of a research team and he/she should have good communication skills.

Pre-doctoral candidates should have a Master’s degree in Biology or a related discipline and good skills in cell biology and molecular biology techniques; prior experience in mouse genetics is appreciated. The ideal candidate should be strongly motivated and able to work in a research team.

How to apply: In order to submit your application, please send an email with your CV, a motivational letter and the name and contact info of two referees to dimalta@tigem.it

Thanks for applying!
