TIGEM Scientific Office is supporting research and innovation projects in Italy, Europe and internationally. With 8 consultants, we provide our researchers with multi-sectoral expertise combined with the agility of a young and dynamic structure. The central aims of the SO are to facilitate the Institute’s biomedical research and to maintain an environment that fosters innovation, collaboration, and scientific achievement.

In the context of our growth we are looking for a project officer who is passionate about the future of genetics and medicine in Europe to reinforce our small but energetic international team in Pozzuoli.

Main responsibilities

The Project Officer reports directly to the Chief Scientific Officer and shall be responsible for:

  • Drafting project proposals and reports for a wide range of EU and Italian funding schemes;
  • Overall responsibility for the implementation of EU-funded research projects (Horizon 2020, ERC, etc.), expert support, networking as well as technical reporting;
  • Identification and assessment of research opportunities published by the EU and other funding agencies;
  • Early identification and networking with potential consortium partners as well as leading negotiations;
  • Dissemination of project results and learnings, in collaboration with the Communication officers;
  • Internal dissemination and communication of Institute’s results (e.g. preparation of institutional newsletter, management of institutional website)

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Biology, Biotechnology, Medicine, Chemistry, Pharmacy
  • At least 3 years proven experience with EU technical assistance projects, either in project preparation or in EU project management;
  • Full IT proficiency (MS Office);
  • Excellent knowledge of English - other languages will be considered an asset;
  • Able to work autonomously under high time pressure and workload;
  • Intercultural skills, problem-solving minded and with a service-oriented attitude;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and keen on working in a team.
