Human Genetics PhD Program

Program Objective: This program prepares students for research in various fields of human genetics.

Length of Program: 3(+1) years

Affiliated Research Center: The Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM), Pozzuoli (NA), Italy

Requirements and Restriction
All eligible international and domestic students are encouraged to apply to the program of their choice. All applicants must hold either an Italian Laurea Specialistica or equivalent Master of Science degree granted by an accredited university or college before matriculation. Applicants expecting conferral of a university degree are also welcome to apply, provided that they receive the degree before the scheduled examination date.

The awarding body for OU Research Degrees at Tigem is The Open University.  Tigem is authorised as an Affiliated Research Centre to support OU Research Degrees under arrangements approved by The Open University’s Research Committee.
Candidates will be put forward for registration with The Open University and those who successfully complete their OU Research Degree Programme will be awarded an Open University MPhil or PhD as applicable.

The TIGEM Students’ Administrator is responsible for managing the bureaucratic matters formalities regarding entry into the program, coordinating student affairs, and communicating with the OU Graduate Studies office and presenting potential students, as some may rejected based on the discretion of the OU.
