Dr. Galli gained a University degree in Biological Sciences in 1976 and a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine in 1988; currently she is in-staff senior researcher, Cell Biology and Neurosciences Department, Istituto Superiore di Sanità, Roma, Italy.
Dr. Galli was active for more than 25 yrs as basic researcher in experimental oncology, cellular biology, molecular immunology, with 60 publications on international journals.
Dr. Galli has been active for the past 20 yrs in the field of translational medicine as quality assessor for gene therapy and biotechnology medicines in national as well as European procedures; she has also been active for the past 18 yrs as GMP and GLP inspector in the field of gene/cell therapy and biotechnology.
Dr. Galli was member of CAT/EMA in 2009-2011 and vicechair /chair of CAT/EMA Gene Therapy Working Party in 2008-2012, in which she participated since its first meeting. She was part of the drafting group for GMP annex 2 revision. She is also a member of the Gene Therapy Party at the EDQM.
Dr. Galli is currently chair of the ATMP platform in EATRIS-ERIC, the European infrastructure for translational medicine.
