A fellowship position is available in the lab of gene therapy for retinal dystrophies (reference researcher: Dr Enrico Surace).
The lab takes advantage of the recombinant AAV vector platform to transfer genes to the retina of models of inherited retinal degenerations and uses a combination of experimental methods including histology and electrophysiology to analyze the therapeutic outcome. In particular, the main line of investigation for this position is centered on the development of transcriptional silencing by artificial transcription repressors to treat dominant forms of retinal diseases.
A degree in MD, Biology or Biotechnology is highly recommended. An in-depth knowledge and experience of molecular biology is mandatory.
For those interested, please contact Dr Surace at the following email address surace@tigem.it attaching your CV. |
